Many people whom I considered to be important / close to me (seems like in a waaaaay early life now, though), used to tell me “let us not talk about the bad things/ difficulties / grief or such negative emotions. Let’s focus on the good things in life.” As if by choosing not to talk about those things, they would simply get erased from my life like magic and as if they never really happened in my life?
Ooooookay. If it were random strangers or just acquaintances or not so close friends - no one would share their deepest sorrows / worries/ struggles/ difficulties with them anyway. What is the point of calling such relationships as close, when we are only allowed to talk about a few things or a subset of things or or things that others (our perceived close ones, would prefer to see and talk about?) and not be able to present ourselves as we are? To have to color ourselves happy all the time?
Life is an amalgamation of ups and downs, happy moments and sorrowful ones. Life is not a single continuous straight line; it is not something like flat plains. Life’s terrain is most definitely an all kinds of terrain - in everybody’s life. Just because we do not want to talk about the things that cause sorrow/ discomfort, just because we do not want to acknowledge pain in life, does not mean it gets erased like it was never there; does it? Ask yourselves this question - O gyaan ke pandits, O great ones, O very knowledgeable ones.
And to all who ever tried to give me a piece of their minds about not talking/ opening up about pain in life - A BIG THANK YOU to you all. But know this for certain - I was a happy and joyful soul once. It was fake people like you all and many more others, whom I placed a lot of importance on, more than what you all deserved and gave my heart all-in, who turned to me in the hour of your needs, for whom I stood a firm support in all ways possible to me and required of me by you, it is you all who broke me and made me the way I have now become (joyless). I am trying to find my way back to who and what I once was - All ALONE/ by myself.
